Safari in Kenya and Tanzania & Encounter with the Maasai

14 Days 13 Nights

Overview

All game drives are in off-road vehicles

Complete tour in a 4×4 vehicle with a pop-up roof and 7 individual window seats. Every participant has a window seat! The route connects all the highlights of Kenya and Tanzania, including Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and the Masai Mara. On the Tanzanian side, the tour includes the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire National Park.

Mara-Serengeti & Great Migration

Extensive game drives into every corner of the vast Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. On the Kenyan side, you’ll stay in close proximity to the Talek and Mara Rivers. On the Tanzanian side, you’ll travel through the western corridor along the Grumeti River. Depending on the season, you’ll stay in either the southern or central Serengeti – as close as possible to the Great Migration!

Village on Lake Victoria & Masai near Kilimanjaro

On Lake Victoria, you’ll go on a canoe trip with local fishermen. You’ll spend a particularly enriching cultural night at the Africa Amini Maasai Lodge. As guests of the Maasai, you’ll gain fascinating insights into this ancient culture. The lodge is so close to Kilimanjaro that, depending on the cloud cover, you might catch a glimpse of Africa’s highest mountain in the early morning.

Best time to travel to Tanzania & Kenya

Tanzania and Kenya have a tropical climate. It is warm year-round. In the higher elevations (e.g., the Serengeti at 900–1,850 m altitude), daytime temperatures range from 21–26°C, dropping significantly at night. On the coasts, temperatures average around 30°C. The rainy season lasts from mid-March to May. We recommend June to March as the best time to travel.
